Dr. Cole Giller is a board-certified neurosurgeon and an associate professor of neurosurgery at University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, Texas. He maintains an active clinical practice focused on surgery for Parkinson’s disease, pain and epilepsy, and is one of the few specialists in the new field of radiosurgery. Prior to medical school, Dr. Giller obtained a Ph.D. in mathematics, which has influenced his research interests into the uses of optics in neurosurgery. He is on the editorial board of the Journal of Neuroimaging and is a reviewer for numerous journals including Stroke, Archives of Neurosurgery, and Neurosurgery. Dr. Giller is also a cancer survivor, and his experiences as a patient enrich his medical writing. He and his wife live in Dallas and enjoy their four children whenever they visit from college.
