 Sara
Trollinger, a former schoolteacher and juvenile
detention counselor, has helped troubled teenagers
for the past 30 years. In 1985 she founded the
House of Hope, a faith-based ministry to assist
teenagers in need, and she currently serves as
its president. The House of Hope has helped to
turn troubled teens into happy, healthy, well-adjusted
young adults who are returned safely to their
family. By using effective counseling techniques
and strong spiritual guidance, the House of Hope
has experienced a success rate of over 95% and
now serves as a model for over 30 teen ministries
nationwide.
Trollinger
received a bachelors degree in education
from the University of North Carolina and a masters
degree, also in education, from the University
of Florida. Trollinger has been asked to testify
before Congress in Washington, DC, numerous times,
addressing issues relating to Americas youth
and youth programs. For her lifelong achievements
in helping troubled teenagers, Trollinger has
been honored as the recipient of several prestigious
awards, including the Humanitarian Award for the
National Religious Alliance Against Pornography,
the Florida Family Council Family Champion Award
and the Paul Harris Award from Rotary International.
Trollinger currently lives in Orlando, Florida.
Mike Yorkey has written and edited 22 books-two
on teens-and is a regular contributor to teen
periodicals.
