Dr.
Jeffrey A. West
is a board-certified cardiologist, published clinical
investigator, and innovative healthcare technology
executive with 10 years of clinical and management
experience in clinical, academic and business
environments. As a practicing cardiologist with
Cardiovascular Consultants Medical Group and as
a Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at
Stanford University, Dr. West has experienced
first hand the difficulties that families face
in caring for individuals with chronic disease
and disability. Dr. West also has entrepreneurial
experience in eHealth and systems approaches to
chronic disease management. As former Vice President
of Product Management and Marketing at Emblem
Systems and CareThere, Dr. West led development
and marketing of web-based products and services
for consumers, health professionals, and corporations.
Prior to joining CareThere as a co-founder, Dr.
West started Pacific Telemedicine Network to develop
a web-based personal health record to enable consumers
to organize medical information and easily retrieve
health facts from the Internet. While at Stanford
University, Dr. West co-developed the MULTIFIT
system for Heart Failure. Dr. West received his
educational training at Stanford University, Harvard
University, and the University of California -
San Francisco School of Medicine. He currently
lives in the San Francisco Bay area.
