When the Henry Regnery Company first opened its doors in 1947, its mission was to contribute to the rebuilding of Western civilization after World War II. Included in this mission was a dedication to publish quality paperback editions of great books in philosophy, political theory, religion, and history.
Regnery is proud to bring back to publication some of the original Gateway Editions classic titles, including Friedrich Nietzche’s Philosphy in the Tragic Age of the Greeks, Natsume Soseki’s Three Cornered World, Eric Vogelin’s Science, Politics, and Gnosticism, and St. Thomas Aquinas’s Introduction to Metaphysics.
The Gateway Editions list includes classics from such authors as Plato, Aristotle, John Locke, Edmund Burke, Adam Smith, and many other great thinkers. Gateway Editions continues to publish conservative classics, including the Federalist Papers, the Anti-Federalists, Adam Smith's Theory of Moral Sentiments and The Wealth of Nations, and Abraham Lincoln's Language of Liberty.
